In Memory of Edward G. Henneke

Henneke, Fraim & Dawes mourns the loss of its founder, and family member, Edward G. Henneke. Ed had an overwhelming positive effect on all of those around him and will be deeply missed. Ed’s love for the practice of law, community, and University of Michigan was only overshadowed by his love for his family and friends.

Ed left a lasting impression on his family, friends, and colleagues. His long-lasting influence also led his stepson, Scott Fraim, his grandson, Brandon Fraim, and his granddaughter-in-law, Anne Fraim, to follow in his footsteps at Henneke, Fraim & Dawes, P.C. and continue his tradition of serving clients and communities.

Ed graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in accounting and economics in 1962, and then in 1965 graduated from the University of Michigan Law School. Ed began his legal career as an assistant prosecuting attorney for Genesee County, Michigan. Later, in 1967, he co-founded Henneke, Fraim & Dawes, P.C. and over the years mentored many talented attorneys with a diversified set of skills and practice areas. Edward was known for his extensive experience and expertise in insurance defense, estate planning, and probate, and received various awards throughout his distinguished career, including the Genesee County Bar Association Case Evaluator of the Year in 2006 and the Pro Bono Award of the Year in 2008. Throughout his career, Ed was active in numerous civic, community, and church activities. Ed practiced law for over 50 years and established a remarkable reputation for not only his experience in the courtroom, but also his jovial candor with fellow colleagues.

Ed was a great husband, father, grandfather, friend, and, not least of all, lawyer. His memory will be with us forever.
